Brief Description

Working with our admin team managing a wide variety of issues including stock control, ordering, importing, and auditing. Dealing with business customers, managing and dispatching of some orders and various projects/tasks both in the office and warehouse.

Qualifications Required

You will need four GCSEs at grades A*-C or 9-4, or equivalent including maths and English.

Personal Qualities

A positive and enthusiastic attitude. Wanting to learn and experience a wide variety of tasks but also happy at those times that work is repetitive or mundane

Skills Required

Good written and verbal communication skills
Capable with numbers and basic figures
Experience of Excel, Word and Outlook a distinct advantage
Comfortable with learning new IT Systems

Training to be Provided

Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship plus Level 2 Fuctional Skills in maths and English (if required) and Level 2 Functional Skills in ICT. You will also study a range of topics including: IT, Record and document production, Decision making, Planning and organisation, Project management, Policies, Relevant regulations, Stakeholders, Processes and external environment factors.

Successful candidates will have a high chance of continued employment on a permanent contract.

Vacancy Detail

Meet and greet callers (visitors, trades) to the offices and ensure they are appropriately managed, booked in and introduced to the relevant person.
Answer the telephone in the main office and either manage issues or professionally ensure an appropriate person is passed the enquiry.

Assist with stock control using the in house WMS (Warehouse Management System), Excel, and physical checking of stock. This may include checking of barcodes, pack sizes, descriptions, sell by dates, or other stock issues.
Assist with other database and information updates to ensure we have accurate records of stock, customers, sales, and other matters.
Assist, if required, with issues such as the booking in of arriving stock, containers, imports, Lorries and other goods in matters.

Liaise with relevant people in the warehouse and other offices as and when required.

Assist, and learn to deal with, outgoing UPS, Royal Mail and pallet processes, and to liaise with the transport manager regarding deliveries on our own fleet of vehicles.

Carry out any general administrative or other duties as required, they are likely to be many and varied.

Carry out work as requested by the Directors.

Be prepared to carry out tasks such as repacking of goods, stocktaking in the warehouse, picking and other physical tasks as and when required. This is particularly likely during our peak periods on Mondays and/or Tuesdays.

Learn basic skills in health and safety and undertake checks and duties as necessary

Present yourself as professional both in attitude and appearance

We are on the edge of Bedford, easily accessible by bus, cycle or walking. However, please check our location to ensure you are able to reach us without spending excessive money or time in doing so.
We do not work weekends but you may be asked to work Bank Holidays
We have ample free car parking if you do drive, and space to park cycles, mopeds or motorcycles.
We supply tea and coffee for our staff but you will need to bring your own lunch
