Brief Description

Stovis are looking for an apprentice to gain the skills to become an active member of tje engineering team developing materials and processes for converting foams, fleeces and adhesives used within many industries including automotive and renewable energy.

Qualifications Required

English level C/4 or above
Mathematics level C/4 or above
Science level C/4 or above

Training to be Provided

Engineering Maintenance NVQ Level 3 Extended Diploma, EAL Engineering Technology Level 3 Diploma, BTEC or VRQ. Plus English, maths and ICT Functional Skills, Employee Rights and Responsibilities, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills. You will study a range of topics including: Engineering and Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering Organisational Efficiency and Improvement

Future Prospects

Project engineer in our engineering department - dependent upon qualifications gained, we would be willing to sponsor up to degree level day release.

Vacancy Detail

The apprenticeship will give a broad base learning of how a business runs with time spent in production, quality, engineering, internal sales and purchasing. The ambition will be that the individual enjoys and wants to remain in the engineering department at the completion of the apprenticeship.
-Working in the operation of cutting, laminating & printing equipment will be an important part of the apprenticeship
-Obtain knowledge in the different tape products the company manufactures in Die Cutting, Laminating, Printing, Rewinding & Spooling will be important requirement of the role.
-The main duties of the role will be to learn about our products, process and customers.
-Develop the skills necessary to become a valuable and active member of our engineering team;
-Learn IT system and how to create part numbers, BOM, process flow etc
-Learn how to make production packs
-Learn how to layout production parts efficiently
-Review current items for improvements on material usage and operator time
-Learn about materials and applications
-Standardise current materials
-Learn how to manage product introduction
-Weekly salary will depend upon age with yearly increases.

PAY SCALE FOR THIS ROLE:
16 – 17 years old - £162 / week
18 – 20 years old - £219 / week
21 and above - £273 / week

Other Information

Training will be given throughout the business and it is expected that the individual progresses at college in addition to work learning. The final position is expected to be in engineering as project engineer, training and sponsorship up to degree level will be available.

18 – 20 years old - £219 / week
21 and above - £273 / week
