Brief Description

Assisting the engineering and civils team with all aspects of groundworks. As an Apprentice Technician you’ll help a team including engineers and other professionals to assess, design and supervise civil engineering works.

Qualifications Required

You will need to have GCSE grades A*- C in English and maths, or equivalent.

Other requirements: Previous construction based qualifications or experience with the construction sector is desirable but not essential.

Personal Qualities

Honest, trustworthy, keen to learn, ability to work on own initiative, polite and well presented.

Skills Required

An aptitude for engineering and construction. Good communication and general information technology skills

Vacancy Detail

Assisting the engineering and civils team with all aspects of groundworks. As an Apprentice Technician you’ll help a team including engineers and other professionals to assess, design and supervise civil engineering works. You’ll cover on a wide variety of construction - from roads and pavements, to car parks, drainage and earthworks.
This will cover but is not limited to;
• Substructure
• Superstructure
• Infrastructure (roads and services)
• Landscaping

• Introduction and guidance in temporary works
• Commercial understanding
• Concise and accurate reporting
• Material and logistics management

Other Information

Our Stewarby site is located in a semi-rural location so will need to be able to travel to the site location each day. Further opportunities maybe available on new company projects in the UK.

Candidates must attend an initial interview with a member of the Bedford College Apprenticeship Recruitment Team and complete an online maths and English test which will be sent out prior to your initial interview if you meet the entry criteria. Please note this is part of the recruitment process and must be completed in order for your application to be progressed to the next stage.
