Brief Description

As an Apprentice for LC Services you will be trained to complete the rebuild and testing of electromechanical assemblies and mechanical pumps using standard operational procedures.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this apprenticeship you must have A*-D (9-3) in science, maths and English or a Level 2 equivalent

To be considered for the level 3 equivalent of this apprenticeship, you must have A*-C (9-4) in science, maths and English or a Level 2 equivalent

Personal Qualities

You must be self motivated and have excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Methodical thinker
Proven interest in engineering

Skills Required

We are looking for someone who is hands on and has a minimum of one year mechanical engineering experience gained either through work or a college / school based course. You should have good problem solving skills and the be familiar with hand tools.

No previous experience with mechanical vacuum/rough pumps and/or scientific instrumentation is necessary as full training will be provided on the various products.

• Performing Engineering Operations NVQ Level 2 Diploma (QCF) – with bias to match chosen pathway
• Industrial Environment Awareness Level 2 Award in (QCF)

The successful candidate will progress within the company to become a Workshop Engineer

Vacancy Detail

As an Apprentice for LC Services you will be trained to complete the rebuild and testing of electromechanical assemblies and mechanical pumps using standard operational procedures. This apprenticeship is a multi skilled position which includes both electronic and electro mechanical engineering.

You will receive initial training on the various instruments and test equipment used. Once confident, you will be required to work on your own initiative to complete work schedules as required.

You will also be required to carry out repairs and rebuilds on a wide variety of mechanical vacuum/rough pumps and electro mechanical sub assemblies. In addition you will need the ability to work as part of a team and liaise with other departments .

They must be hands on and have mechanical engineering skills, it is essential that applicants are self motivated and have excellent attention to detail. No previous experience with mechanical vacuum/rough pumps and/or scientific instrumentation is necessary as full training will be provided on the various products.

Other Information

Please make sure that you are able to travel to Turvey independently which is approximately 5 miles North of Bedford before applying.
This position is currently advertised as a Level 2, but can be a Level 3 (Advanced) for the right candidate.
