Brief Description

A growing Civil Engineering company has a vacancy for Site Engineer apprentices to join their expanding team working in Bedford. The role will involve working with an experienced Site/Civil Engineers on complex and challenging projects.

Qualifications Required

Minimum of three GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4 of level 1 equivalent ideally including English, math’s, Science and or very technical based subject.

Personal Qualities

 Have a passion to learn
 Be punctual and diligent in discharging their responsibility
 Have excellent communication skills
Basic PC Skills

Skills Required

Basic maths skills
Basic Computer skills and passion to learn Computer Aided Design software skills (Full training will be provided)

Training to be Provided

During this apprenticeship you will study a range of topics, including:
•Construction and the built environment
•Further mathematics in construction
•Science and materials
•Construction technology and design
•Surveying in construction and civil engineering
•Structural analysis and design

Vacancy Detail

A growing Civil Engineering company has a vacancy for Site Engineer apprentices to join their expanding team working in Bedford. The role will involve working with an experienced Site/Civil Engineers on complex and challenging projects.

 Assist the Site Engineer in the daily scheduling and setting out of building works on site.
 Checking and confirming the dimensional accuracy of works already set out and explaining the key points to trade operatives.
 Carrying out quality control of concrete pour levels with the concrete gangers and confirming the final levels to be accurate.
 Liaising with the general workforce involved in the project.

 Have excellent communication skills

 Have a passion for the Outdoors (cold winter and hot summers)
 Early resumption to site (7am at least)
 Consider the possibility of some Saturday work (But can take a week day off in lieu).

Other Information

This vacancy requires 80% outdoor working and 20% office (paper work) work including soft skills training.

Candidates must attend an initial interview with a member of the Bedford College Apprenticeship Recruitment Team and complete an online maths and English test which will be sent out prior to your initial interview if you meet the entry criteria.
