Brief Description

The trust are looking to appoint a self-motivated, committed, highly engaged Finance Apprentice to support the Bedford Inclusive Learning and Training Trust (BILTT) Finance Team in a varied financial environment.

Qualifications Required

Grade requirements: You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at grades A*-C (9-4) including English and maths.

Strong, confident interpersonal skills.

Skills Required

Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel,
Experience of computer finance packages would be desirable,

Vacancy Detail

The Trust are looking to appoint a self-motivated, committed, highly engaged Finance Apprentice to support the BILTT Finance Team in a varied financial environment.

To assist with the administration of financial functions and transactions within the school and Multi Academy Trust, thereby providing an efficient support service to the BILTT Finance Manager.

To be responsible for basic school procedures relating to finance under the direction of the Finance Manager. This will include the processing of orders, goods received notes, and invoices using a computerised financial package.

To negotiate and liaise with suppliers to ensure best value for the ordering of goods, works and services.

Produce monitoring reports using Excel and/or the finance package as required by the BILTT Finance Manager.

To assist in the preparation of accounts for month end and end of the financial year, identifying committed orders for goods and services.

To raise invoices for income e.g. for externally funded places, courses/lettings held at Grange Academy and similar. To chase outstanding invoices in line with BILTT debtor’s policy.

Assist reception at month end verifying the balance of the petty cash.

To perform general office duties including receiving visitors, dealing with parents and students enquiries, taking telephone calls and messages, receiving and unpacking/checking parcels when required.

To undertake any other duties of a similar level and responsibility as may be required from time to time.
