Qualifications Required

Minimum of GCSE A*-D or equivalent in English and maths

Skills Required

- IT skills – experience with Word, Outlook (email and diary) and database
- Ability to deal with a varied volume of work in a conscientious manner with accuracy, speed and efficiency
- Ability to prioritise workload to meet competing deadlines (including meeting the study requirements and timescales)
- Able to work as an effective team member
- Ability to work without constant supervision

Carers in Bedfordshire needs a friendly people person to be the first contact for callers and visitors at Carers in Bedfordshire's Bedford office.

You will respond to enquiries on the phone and to visitors, giving information about our services and ensuring clients have the information they need. You will make sure clients are kept up to date with appointments, courses and group activities, working with your colleagues to ensure activities meet clients' needs. As well as being a people person, you'll be great at IT too, producing documents and making sure that database records are kept up to date and information processed appropriately, in accordance with confidentiality and data protection best practice.

The successful applicant will learn all aspects of customer service including contact by phone, face to face and email, understanding and meeting client needs, working as part of a team to deliver the highest standards of customer care.

Other Information

This role is very varied and covers all aspects of supporting clients from direct contact both on the phone and face to face, and the administration that is involved in doing that. This also involves setting up rooms for activities, organising refreshments, tidying/washing up and keeping the office environment tidy.
