Brief Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a Level 2 Hairdressing qualification to continue to progress in their career and develop their existing skills as a Level 3 Apprentice for Brooks Hair and Beauty Salon.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this apprenticeship you must already hold a Level 2 qualification in Hairdressing or due to finish your course in June 2018.

Have A*-D in Maths and English GCSE or a Level 1 equivalent .

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone with a passion for Hairdressing, who takes pride in their appearance, attitude and work. You must be able to work well as a team and have excellent communication skills as you will be working with members of the public.

Training to be Provided

Training in all units for the Level 3 NVQ Hair Qualification. Covering units in creative skills such as advanced colour and cutting, perming and chemical straightening.

Vacancy Detail

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a Level 2 Hairdressing qualification to continue to progress in their career and develop their existing skills as a Level 3 Apprentice for Brooks Hair and Beauty Salon.

You will be working as a fully operative Level 2 qualified Hairdresser with us whilst attending training and working towards an advanced apprenticeship framework, proving Level 3 treatments and services following competent assessments. As an Advanced Apprentice with Brooks you will be expected to:

To carry out effective consultations, give accurate advice and suggest ideas for suitable styles and aftercare
To meet and greet clients in a professional manner
To carry out hairdressing services and treatments including, cutting, styling, perming and colouring
To advise on minor hair and scalp problems
To work professionally and adhere to dress code and code of conduct at all times
To participate in promotional activities designed to increase sales
To participate in progression and careers events, salon marketing and open events
To support and facilitate work experience in the salon
To ensure products containing chemicals are used and stored correctly.
To work effectively in a team; supporting, training and assisting Level 1 and 2 learners
To make sure towels and supplies are ready for use
To keep the salon clean and tidy at all times.
To carry out reception duties, answering the telephone, arranging appointments, operate the computer
To recommend and sell retail products and services to clients meeting individual retail and service targets
To collect and electronically record all client record cards
At the days end, ensure the salon , work stations and equipment is clean and ready for the next day
To attend staff meetings and contribute towards salon developments
To attend hairdressing training courses
To complete and achieve Level 3 hairdressing assessments within the set time frame
To complete and achieve if required Level 2 Functional skills in Mathematics and English within set time frame
To adhere to health, safety and security legislation at all times
To have a flexible approach with working days and times over a Monday – Saturday working week and be prepared to cover for colleagues absences
To undertake any other associated duties as appropriate from time to time assigned by the Assistant Director and Salon Manager
