Brief Description

Do you want to:
Learn to repair and maintain all printers and peripherals supported by Blue Chip?
Develop a basic level of understanding of IBM systems?

Qualifications Required

You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at grades A*-C or 9-4, ideally including English, maths and science or a technical based subject such as engineering or product design.
Alternatively you can progress from a relevant Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship programme.

•Electrical and Electronic Engineering NVQ Level 3 Extended Diploma (incorporating level 2 Performing Engineering Operations that is studied in the first year at College)

•BTEC level 3 90-credit Diploma in Engineering

Do you want to:
Learn to repair and maintain all printers and peripherals supported by Blue Chip?
Develop a basic level of understanding of IBM systems?
• To ensure that all parts i.e. hammer banks, circuit boards, motors, UPS’s, PSU’s and other peripherals are fully tested in the prescribed manner.
• To ensure that all parts are to be booked out of WENG when fully tested or being moved out of the department.
• Prioritise testing of critical stock items when notified by a low stock email.
• Ensure that the test/staging area is kept safe and tidy at all times.
• Liaise with engineers and support them on all printer issues and document fixes.
• All test bed systems are to be kept operational at all times.
• To undertake any other task assigned by your line manager.
• Attend college and complete course work to the required standard.
