Brief Description
Working in the Practice Reception/Admin team, who deal with the Administrative patient facing functions in the surgery.
Qualifications Required
You will need a minimum of four GCSEs A*-C / 9-4 including English and maths.
Personal Qualities
GP practices are busy and demanding environments so candidates must be robust and able to work and, indeed, thrive in such circumstances.

Future Prospects
We are a new fast growing organisation. There are therefore many opportunities for career development for those candidates with the drive to develop. For example, our last apprentice, on completing her apprenticeship, joined the Administration Team. She was then promoted to "Site Supervisor" at our branch surgery. She then decided that she wanted more patient contact and to move into a more clinical role so she has just qualified as a Healthcare Assistant.
Vacancy Detail
Working in the Practice Reception/Admin team, who deal with the Administrative patient facing functions in the surgery. The Admin/Reception Team support the clinical staff and customer service to our patients.
The candidate will learn all aspects of administration in a busy NHS GP practice.
This will include:
• Reception duties; making and answering patient telephone calls; making appointments for patients with our doctors and nurses;
• Handling post;
• Scanning correspondence and coding and filing;
• Using the practice clinical computer system;
• Using word processing and spreadsheet software to undertake business functions
